Trump has decided to attack Iran - this will have consequences - for the whole world?

According to the Pentagon, the US attacks Iran with bunker busters and announces complete success. Netanyahu is jubilant. We analyze interests, facts and talk about consequences - for the whole world.

Introduction

After the White House announced on June 19 that Donald Trump would decide in the next two weeks whether the US would enter the war against Iran alongside Israel, the US attacked the three Iranian nuclear facilities at Fordo, Natanz and Isfahan early on Sunday morning (Iranian time).

On June 22, 2025, Chief of Staff General John Daniel "Dan" Caine announced the following in his press conference at the Pentagon:

"At about 5 p.m. ET Saturday, just before the aircraft entered Iranian airspace, a U.S. submarine launched more than two dozen Tomahawk cruise missiles against targets inside Iran. As the aircraft approached their targets, the U.S. deployed 'several deception tactics, including decoys,' … The bombers dropped two 'bunker‑buster' bombs known as the GBU‑57 Massive Ordnance Penetrators, or MOPs, on the site at Fordo at about 6:40 p.m. ET, or 2:10 a.m. local time. Over the next 25 minutes, Caine said, a total of 14 MOPs would be dropped on two target areas."
"It was also the first use of the massive ordnance penetrator, or MOP, which had only been used in a testing role," sagte Caine.
General John Daniel "Dan" Caine - 22 June 2025

This bomb, which weighs 13.6 tons, was used for the first time in an attack. It is said to have the ability to penetrate 60 meters into the earth's interior before exploding and thus achieve what the Israelis have failed to do with their weapons in recent days: destroy Iran's nuclear facilities located deep in the mountains. According to the Iranians, this has not happened.

If you ask Donald Trump, on the other hand, the attack was a "spectacular military success" and the three nuclear facilities were "completely and totally obliterated".

Trump went on to say that "Iran, the bully of the Middle East" must now make peace.

Shortly afterwards, Prime Minister Netanyahu spoke out. Netanyahu praised US President Donald Trump for his "courageous decision" to take part in his country's airstrikes against Iran. Netanyahu went on to describe this step as a turning point that had "brought about a historic change that could help lead the Middle East and beyond into a future of prosperity and peace". I agree with Netanyahu on one point. The US attack does indeed have the potential to be a turning point in history, but a dangerous one, not a positive one.

Prime Minister Netanyahu thanks Trump enthusiastically and speaks of a turning point that will lead to peace

Trump does not see this attack as the US going to war, but rather as a nudge to motivate Iran to make peace. The addressee of this threat is a country that has not attacked anyone for over a hundred years, has been sanctioned by the West for 45 years, was involved by the US in a 9-year war with Iraq and was attacked by Israel a few days ago for no reason.

In his essay published on June 21, Andreas Mylaeus showed that Israel's attack on Iran - and thus the bombing of Iran by the US this morning - has absolutely nothing to do with Iran's nuclear program, but is ultimately an attack on BRICS and the integration of Eurasia. I refer you to Mylaeus for the real reasons.

The Goebbels strategy of repeating the same lie a hundred times so that it is believed works in the West, but not in the Global South.

In this article I will report on the consequences of this bombing and what could happen if Iran decides to attack American targets in the Middle East.

Probably no major military damage but major geopolitical damage

The Iranian National Nuclear Security System Center confirmed the attack, but stated that no signs of radioactive contamination or leaks had been detected during emergency inspections at the affected facilities. The International Atomic Energy Agency later also said that no increase in radiation levels had been reported in Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan. I assume that the attack was not successful. Al Mayadeen 's correspondent in Tehran also reported that initial findings contradict the US account and confirm that only external areas such as gates and fencing were hit. The superficial damage was negligible and would not affect further uranium enrichment. (Source: Professor Seyed M. Marandi - here and here)

"Anyone who still negotiates with Trump and believes his words can be described as a complete idiot."

Contrary to Trump's bluster, the military strike therefore achieved nothing, apart from the fact that the American president completely removed himself from the game diplomatically. Trump already had a hand in the "Spiderweb" attack, the drone strike against targets in Russia, and lied about it. Trump also lied through his teeth about his involvement in Israel's attack against Iran. We reported on this in our article "Diplomacy on his deathbed - from peace president to warmonger". With Trump's announcement three days ago that he would decide within two weeks whether the US would go to war, he gave the impression that he was striving for a diplomatic solution. Anyone who is still negotiating with Trump and believes his words can be described as a complete idiot.

Furthermore, Trump has robbed himself of the opportunity to act by this stupidity. He now has to wait and see what happens and not only Iran, but also Russia, China and Pakistan can now calmly decide how they will react, while Iran has the opportunity to reduce Israel to rubble. The escalatory dominance therefore lies with Iran and its partners.

Israel and the US have no chance in the war against Iran

My research and discussions with sources reveal a picture that does not correspond at all to what the Western media proclaim, namely that Israel is in the process of winning.

First of all, you have to define what "winning" means. So we have to ask ourselves what Israel's goals are. Professor Mearsheimer lists three Israeli goals: (1) preventing Iran's nuclear program; (2) regime change; and (3) unconditional surrender.

Israel is incapable of preventing Iran's nuclear program, so Netanyahu has been begging the Americans to attack Iran for 30 years. This attack has now taken place and apparently achieved nothing. Regime change is also out of the question, as this would require a complete invasion of Iran and its defeat with ground troops. We have long been aware that American politicians are so refreshingly ignorant that it brings tears to the eyes. The latest example was surely Senator Ted Cruz, who came out as a complete idiot to Tucker Carlson when he didn't even begin to know how big Iran's population is (92 million) and what it consists of.

He certainly doesn't know what the topography of Iran looks like either. At 1,648,195 square kilometers (636,372 square miles), Iran is 75 times larger than Israel (22,145 km²/8,630 square miles) and, unlike Russia (17,000,000 km²/6,612,000 square miles), which is 10 times larger, it is not perfectly flat. Although it looks similar to Switzerland (41,285 km²/15,940 square miles), it is 40 times larger than the dwarf in the heart of Europe.

Furthermore, the uneducated American crybabies should think about where they want to attack Iran from. This will not be difficult, as all Iranian neighboring states are enthusiastic about the US: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Turkey, Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan.

This also eliminates the third goal - capitulation.

Even with American help, Iran cannot be defeated. Remember 1991 when a coalition led by the US attacked Iraq with ground troops. At that time, around 750,000 people took part in the invasion of a country that was four times smaller than Iran and largely flat. It was not possible to conquer the whole of Iraq in 1991, only half of it. A conquest of Iran is therefore nothing more than a pipe dream.

How will Iran react?

Huge arsenal of weapons in Iran

Iran has tens of thousands of missiles and hundreds of thousands of drones of many different types. After the first Israeli hurrah last Sunday, the Israeli successes are becoming quieter. The Israeli government has banned filming of strikes or damage from Iranian attacks on Israel. This is a clear indication that the Israelis' legendary "Iron Dome" does not offer sufficient protection and that the missiles from Iran are finding their target. Slowly but surely, the supply of air defense missiles, which are supposed to protect important Israeli facilities, is running out. Experts say that the supply will last a maximum of another 14 days.

In addition, Iran - along with China and Russia - are the only countries that have hypersonic missiles against which there is no antidote in the Western arsenal. No information is available on the exact specifications of the Iranian hypersonic missiles, but a little more on the Russian Oreshnik, which we reported on after its first deployment on November 24, 2024 in "Putin checkmates NATO - reason for hope?".

Unlike Israel, Iran therefore has nothing to worry about in terms of stockpiles. I remember the hubbub of 2022 when Western media, "experts" and politicians never tired of emphasizing that Russia was running out of ammunition. It turned out differently. Today, Russia alone produces between four and ten times more missiles than the entire NATO, including the United States.

If the attack does not lead to a major escalation, Israel will sooner or later run out of missiles and the 250,000 Israelis who have already left Israel in the last 10 days will probably be followed by millions more. Israel's very existence is already under threat.

Iranian society

I visited Iran twice last year and was very impressed by the country and its people. I had the opportunity to talk to many people, including professors, scientists, civil servants, entrepreneurs and lawyers. People from all walks of life and of all age groups. As a completely non-religious person, I was invited several times to the home of a highly religious family and spent great evenings with people who live their religion but have no reservations whatsoever about those who live their lives and their faith differently and answer every question about religion and society with great joy and openness. I was also struck by the incredibly high level of education of the people and the propaganda-free view of the West and East. I never sensed any hatred towards Israel and certainly not towards Judaism, as the more than 20,000 Jews in Iran are able to practise their faith in their synagogues without any restrictions.

Iran has been under sanctions for 45 years and the fact that this multi-ethnic state has survived is thanks to a people who are certainly not impressed by a little Hitler in Israel or a screamer in Washington. There are problems in Iran and there are voices calling for reform. However, suggestions on how Iran should change must come from within and not from outside - and that includes me.

The naive and arrogant opinion of the West that the attacks could provoke an overthrow of the government is complete nonsense. My sources tell me that this attack led to people standing together.

Escalation by Iran?

Iran has no interest in escalation unless it is attacked militarily. This fits in with the fact that this country has not attacked another country for over 140 years. It is quite conceivable that the attacks on Israel will be continued and possibly intensified in order to bring about a change in thinking and also to show the strength that Iran possesses.

How will Russia, China and Pakistan react?

At this point, I refer you to our five-part series of articles "The War of Two Worlds Has Begun": Part 1 - US Strategy in World War I and World War II; Situation of the US and the Collective West; Part 2 - BRICS and the Global South; Part 3 - Turnaround towards Russia; Part 4 - Medium-term Forecasts: Part 5 - Long-term Forecasts.

From what has been said in this series and from what Mr. Mylaeus said in "Israel's proxy war against BRICS", it is clear that the current conflict with Iran has nothing to do with Iran's nuclear bombs, but everything to do with the US's fight against BRICS and the integration of Eurasia.

BRICS as an economic organization of the Global South already outstrips the Collective West with G7 by far.

The potential of this organization leaves the West speechless - one reason why this economic giant is hardly reported on in the West, but war is already being waged.

Russia and China in particular, which lead BRICS, will do everything they can to ensure that Iran survives this crisis. Voices from the West claiming that Russia and China will abandon Iran, as they did with Syria, are completely wrong. Russia, which successfully supported Syria militarily for years, was confronted in Syria with the fact that Assad did nothing to strengthen the fragile country after his military victory. So what should the Russians have done? - Invade? - See our article "The empire strikes back".

The current attack on Iran, however, is about the survival of BRICS. If Iran were to fall, this organization would be seriously weakened and would lose the momentum that has been built up over the last 20 years or so. China and Russia as leaders of BRICS and Pakistan as Iran's neighbor and potential BRICS member will do everything they can to support Iran.

My sources confirm to me that numerous transport planes from Russia and China have already landed in Iran and that Pakistan is supporting Iran by land. Iran therefore has powerful partners who can - and will - supply the former Persian Empire with everything it needs for years to come. North Korea will not stand idly by either.

Complete escalation

Anything is possible - unfortunately. That was the title of an article a few weeks ago. So we also need to think about the possible consequences of a total escalation in the Middle East. If Trump continues to attack Iran, when he will have realized that his aggression of this weekend has achieved nothing, it cannot be ruled out that Iran - probably with the full consent of China and Russia - will attack US military infrastructure in the Middle East and oil and gas infrastructure in Qatar, the UAE, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and block the Strait of Hormuz.

I spoke to an expert on this subject - Simon Hunt - and asked him what would happen in the event of such an escalation. Simon gave a few estimates that should give everyone in the West sleepless nights:

Oil price

A closure of the Strait of Hormuz will immediately lead to an oil price of at least USD 150 per barrel (oil price last Friday WTI USD 74).

An attack on the oil infrastructure in the entire Middle East will result in an oil price of around USD 500 per barrel.

US bonds (10-year)

Currently at 4.377% - will immediately reach 5% and within 18 months double digits, i.e. over 10%.

This will result in a complete collapse of the Western financial system.

Who has an interest in this? - Probably nobody, so Mr. Trump may yet come to his senses, because Netanyahu, as the leader of a country that has not given a damn about anything since 1947, will never give in.

The problem in the Middle East is Israel

We have written extensively about Israel as a problem, especially in our five-part series "Israel - from victim to perpetrator to victim - a back and forth for 80 years".

But let's ask an Israeli, Gideon Levy, who recently said in a speech what no one dares to say and is never heard in the West:

Quelle: X

"If we are the chosen people, who are you to tell us what to do?
Who are you?
Who is the international community to tell us what to do?
International law.
Wonderful thing.
It doesn't apply on us.
It applies on any other place on earth, not on Israel.
Because we are the chosen people, don't you understand it?
The second very deep rooted value is obviously the value of we, the victims, not only the biggest victims, but the only victims around.
I know many occupations which were longer than Israeli occupation than the Israeli occupations somewhere even more brutal, even though it's getting harder and harder to be more brutal than the Israel occupation.
I don't recall one occupation which the occupier presenting itself as the victim.
Not only the victim, the only victim.
We have to phrase here, we have to quote here the late Golda Meir, whom I quoted also last time, I know, but it is so unforgettable, I have to use it again.
She once said that we will never forgive the Arabs for forcing us to kill their children .
We are the victims.
We are forced to kill their children.
Poor us.
And as the victim and the only victim in history, again, it enable us the rights to do whatever we want, and nobody is going to tell us what to do, because we are the only victims.
To this, there is a third, very deep-rooted value, and this is the very deep belief again, everyone will deny it, but if you scratch under the skin of almost every Israeli, you'll find it there.
The Palestinians are not equal human beings like us.
They are not like us.
They don't love their children like us.
They don't love life like us.
They were born to kill.
They are cruel.
They are sadists, they have no values, no manners.
Look how they kill us.
This is very, very deep rooted in Israeli society, and maybe that's the key issue.
Because as long as this continues, nothing will move, as long as most of Israelis don't perceive the Palestinians as equal human beings, we are so much better than them.
We are so much developed than them.
And we are so much human than them.
As long as this is the case, all our dreams and we have some dreams and I'll get to them, all our dreams will never become true as long as this core issue will not change."

There is a solution to every problem, but if the peoples of the Middle East want to live together peacefully, something has to change - in Israel. Otherwise, the day will come when the other peoples will decide to solve the problem by expelling the Israelis from the land that never belonged to them - by force. Some - and soon more - Israelis will probably agree with me on this view.
