Our blog is transforming - Voice from Russia becomes Forum Geopolitica

Our blog has transformed. What began as a solo endeavor has grown into a vibrant platform—a meeting place, a forum. With this growth, we’re embracing a new name that reflects our expanded vision.

A mini blog is taken seriously

In November 2022, I launched Voice from Russia with a single post, The Unstoppable Rise of the East, read by just over 200 people. It was a modest start. Today, thousands from around the world engage with our work, with some articles reaching over 30,000 views. Outlets like ZeroHedge, Sonar21, Free21, Seniora, and GlobalBridge and many more have amplified our voice far beyond my expectations catapulting views on some articles to 200,000.

Why a new name?

Voice from Russia captured my perspective as a Swiss national in Moscow, sharing insights on geopolitics and economics. Our original slogan, The trilingual, geopolitical, and geoeconomic blog of a Swiss in Moscow, embodied that spirit. But our growth has outpaced that vision. Exceptional writers—none based in Russia—now shape this platform’s character.

The name Voice from Russia also carried unintended weight. In a climate of Western Russophobia, some assumed I was a propagandist for the Russian government—far from the truth. Perception often overshadows reality, and by January 2024, we began reimagining our platform. After sifting through countless ideas, one name stood out:

Forum Geopolitica: Independent Commentary on a Fractured World

We stand apart. Not in opposition to others, but in pursuit of clarity and truth — wherever that pursuit may lead.

Our Core Principles

Truly Independent: We have no ties to governments, corporations, or advertisers. Our loyalty is to truth, sustained only by readers like you.

A Forum for Debate: Our articles spark rigorous discussion, not conformity. We embrace disagreement as a path to insight.

Integrity Over Objectivity: Objectivity is an illusion. We express our perspectives boldly, and unapologetically, challenging political correctness to preserve free thought.

Honest Inquiry: Our conclusions may be imperfect, but they stem from meticulous research and sincerity. Truth is our pursuit, not just a slogan.

Defying the Mainstream: We reject the distortions of mainstream media, which too often serve power and profit over fact. We expose the farce and stand apart.

What’s New

A Thoughtful Design: Beauty Matters. Just as you savor a meal with your eyes first, our redesigned platform pairs substance with elegance. A clean layout and typeface create a serene space for engaging with deep, thoughtful content.

A Multilingual Forum: Our readers’ comments are often as insightful as our articles. Now, with licensed DeepL integration, you can write and read comments in English, German, Russian, or French, instantly translated into your preferred language. This fosters a truly global conversation without losing nuance.

Smarter search: Our old site’s basic search frustrated readers. On our home page, Forum Geopolitica lets you explore by topic, author, post type, country, person, or organization.

Authors' page: Our blog can only grow with the commitment of our great authors. On our Authors' Page - you will find a presentation of all our authors, where you find their cv, links to their own sites as well as a list of all articles these great people have published with us.

We Offer Our Gratitude

Thank you for your engagement, critique, and trust. You have shaped Forum Geopolitica into what it is today. Due to the lively discussions in our comment section, the new name fits perfectly - we are a forum.

Apart from our readers and our team, consisting of Maria Avilova, Denis Dobrin and myself, we had outside help of professional nature, such as a gentleman in Switzerland, who developed this new page from scratch. We started with a blank piece of paper, not using the world leading platform WordPress in order to be more flexible regarding many aspects, specifically regarding the multilingual aspect of our site.

Finally, I would like to specifically express my deep personal gratitude to Adriano Ackermann, my collaborator of over 25 years, crafted every logo and visual identity for all the projects I ever did – also for this very project. His artistry and friendship are invaluable. Thank you, Adriano.

The journey continues under a new name, with the same unwavering commitment.

We gave our best, but there will still be issues and bugs. We are a small team and our testing of the site was, therefore, limited. Let us know in the comment section, if something does not work as intended and we will give our best to quickly rectify it.

Welcome to Forum Geopolitica.

Warm regards,

Peter Hanseler
