Dirk Pohlmann – author

Dirk Pohlmann M.A., born in 1959, studied journalism, philosophy and law and obtained a commercial pilot's license with instrument rating. Until the insolvency of the parent company CargoLifter AG in 2002, he was managing director of the commercially successful CargoLifter World GmbH and trained as a project manager. 

He has worked as a TV journalist since 1986, initially mainly in the areas of travel and science. As a screenwriter and film director, he has produced more than 25 documentaries for arte, ZDF and ARD, which have been broadcast on TV in more than 20 countries, including the US, Russia, Great Britain, Canada, Australia and many European countries.

He has been nominated twice for the Grimme Prize and received the award for “Best Foreign Film” for his documentary “Deception - The Reagan Method” at the “Call of the Sea” film festival in St. Petersburg in 2015. 

Since 2002, he has focused primarily on Cold War intelligence operations. In 2016, he ended his work for public broadcasters, 

Since 2015, he has been writing for numerous blogs and publishes the video magazine “Das 3. Jahrtausend” together with Mathias Bröckers and Robert Fleischer. He also runs the video blog “Geschichten aus Wikihausen” together with Markus Fiedler and “Erstkontakt” with Robert Fleischer. He has been editor-in-chief of the website and print publication Free21 since 2019.

Together with Jens Wernicke, he has published the book “Die Öko-Katastrophe”. He will soon be publishing “Im Auftrag der Eliten: The Herrhausen Case and Other Political Murders” from Westend Verlag.

Among other things, Dirk Pohlmann is editor-in-chief of the geopolitical website Free21.org
